Hey I’m Jay I’m an artist who loves to create things that are out of this world. My artworks are inspired by galaxies and psychedelic dreamscapes. I find great joy in transporting the view to new dimensions where anything is possible.
My artworks are about escapism. I paint landscapes and portraits to take people’s minds off of the madness of the world.
My creativity helped me get through depression and psychosis. I recreated myself through painting and my artworks can be seen as a story. A journey from darkness to light, from insanity to sanity through the psychedelic experience.
There are many things in my life I could be sad or angry about, but I try not to let them get me down. By looking at my paintings and reading about the experience behind each one, you can find a positive message of hope.
I paint because it’s the only way I can express myself fully and be happy with whatever life throws at me. It also makes me feel good to know that there is someone out there who will look at one of my paintings and connect with it on a deep level.
I believe that creativity is one of the most powerful ways to heal the soul. By creativity, I mean all those things that bring us joy and satisfaction and make us feel good about ourselves: dance, music, painting, poetry, writing, photography.. too many to list here. If you’re going through hard times the best way to heal is to be creative, whatever that means to you — whether that is singing, playing an instrument, drawing or writing or even just reading. If it is something creative and you need to do it then do it!
My mission is to create colourful art and share it with the world. I want to make a difference in the lives of others that might be going through dark times. I want to give everyone hope that they can get through their problems, even if they are really hard. I hope my art inspires others to create and in the process of creation they can heal too.
